Summary:
I was born in France but I am 100% Ukrainian. I came to the U.S. in 1954. I graduated from Lane Tech in 1968, but unfortunately I did not play ball there.
I graduated from UIC in 1972 with a BA in Plastic Graphic Arts. I was a walk on my junior year and made the team as a pitcher. Those were the best years of my life until then.
I was married in 1973 to a wonderful woman named Angie and still am after all these years. I have 2 boys, Nick and Rob. Of course I coached both boys in baseball. I coached a travel Team from Arlington Heights for 7 years, and I was the director of Baseball for Arlington Hghts (AHYBA) for 1 year. I got back into coaching when my son Rob who was the Head Coach of the Elk Grove Sophomore Baseball program asked me to be the pitching coach. It was a proud and special year for me. The following year Varsity Head Coach Terry Beyna asked if I would like to come up to the Varsity as a pitching coach , which I did. I have been living a baseball dream the last four years. There is nothing like being around people who love baseball and as much as I do, not to mention being part of a great program.
